Highly doubt this error is on the game part. Do u have any other device plugged in 360 game pad / joysticks or anything controller related. Any software installed or running that may cause trouble with input? I would check that first if it has happened before on another game as well.

Shaders are already possible with the current maps to create the shadows for buildings just that in the editor they might look messed up while in game it looks fine.
