So I have Blubasaur, but now you can have the 2nd gen starters, do you think that I should restart the game and then them? Or should I keep Bulba?

If you want another pokemon you will need to start the game all over again. So I have Blubasaur, but now you can have the 2nd gen starters, do you think that I should restart the game and then them? Or should I keep Bulba?

dude just cheat one up, its a beta and there's no anti cheat or multiplayer and nothing past the 1st gym. once you've played that normally there's nothing stopping you from cheating in pokemon, you should be able to use all gen 1 and 2 pokemon, but there may be some bugs with the ones that haven't been tested (the ones outside of areas we are working on)Aw man I wish I could have started with Bulbasaur![]()
Any idea how the system reads in new pokémon? Even though it is now data driven from what i can tell the references to the animation files are still hard coded so adding completely new pokémon with their own set of animation files is currently not possible i assume unless those references will be stored in the .dat file as well at some point in the future.also it should be possible to add pokemon that can look like whatever you want as long as the sprite is no bigger than 128x128the system for pokemon species is now data driven
So awesome, thanks alot!dude just cheat one up, its a beta and there's no anti cheat or multiplayer and nothing past the 1st gym. once you've played that normally there's nothing stopping you from cheating in pokemon, you should be able to use all gen 1 and 2 pokemon, but there may be some bugs with the ones that haven't been tested (the ones outside of areas we are working on)Aw man I wish I could have started with Bulbasaur![]()
to grant yourself pokemon open party.dat and box.dat in your save folder, each line in there is a pokemon with their current stats, evs, moves and so on. you have to copy another pokemon and change some of the values to suit what you want. you can have 6 pokemon in party.dat, box.dat is for bills pc, you probably want to just add things into the box and get them out in the game than put them in your party.
also it should be possible to add pokemon that can look like whatever you want as long as the sprite is no bigger than 128x128the system for pokemon species is now data driven
oh and if you actually mod the game files and not just your save i'd back up the game to somewhere else and edit that copy. if you're editing saves its wise to back your save up from before you messed with it. just copy the folder somewhere
But why would you do that?Just a note to add - Will this be changed in the future? or is it not possible, doesn't seem right to just be able to make whatever pokemon you feel like, sorta loses the idea behind the game to me.. I could just make a level 100 Mewtwo right now and destroy everything right?
nilllzz tells me the animation folder it looks for is the same name as the pokemon, so you can make a new pokemon, but not make new moves. that is a system we'll be exposing later, nilllzz's animation system is all hard coded, he doesn't have a system as such as he has a bunch of stuff to handle the effects he calls when the attack happens. i told him he should just expose moves now and get it over with and let them be unanimated, or put some special cases in the system to make it so ember etc can keep the animations, but he had enough on his plate with the pokemon system and just getting the data and sprites for that.Any idea how the system reads in new pokémon? Even though it is now data driven from what i can tell the references to the animation files are still hard coded so adding completely new pokémon with their own set of animation files is currently not possible i assume unless those references will be stored in the .dat file as well at some point in the future.also it should be possible to add pokemon that can look like whatever you want as long as the sprite is no bigger than 128x128the system for pokemon species is now data driven
Am talking about adding completely new pokémon from scratch not about replacing existing![]()
