Why would you wanna do that?.... For the story? Story isn't finished yet and you would rince through it in no-time... That isn't fun at all... And honestly, I don't really know besides the fact that you could edit the stats in the party file (Plus lvl, etc) and maybe, just, maybe you might be able to change the amount of money you have.
But lately I've heard people talking about locks on the files, so I am not sure as to what works and what doesn't.

No I mean unfortunately or at least make a way so those of us who want to edit our party can do so but lose access to the trading features or something. I would much rather start with the pokemon I want than having to go find them.

While I understand your point, that would really take away the Pokémon adventure thing. You would miss out on the enjoyment of finding the Pokémon and catching it. That's what Pokémon is all about after all.

As to ''lose acces to the trading feature'' how would that be scripted? I personally have no idea as to how to make that work... :/

If you don't have the hash right you can't trade
I mean right now you can't use the pokemon period and nilllzz said doing that was rather easy
It wouldn't be too much code to make it not usable only for trade

At somepoint protections will be on all the files and if you really want to hack it someone will have to make a gameshark-esq thing to hack

Ah, I see. That makes sense and sounds good. There are lots of new features going to be in this game.... It's going to be.... THE ULTIMATE POKÉMON GAME! Unless you want insane graphics and all that stuff.

I see the cheating thing looked down upon quite a lot and I agree that it would ruin the story to have everything you want and make trading very easy to do, but what about the people who want to battle? It's usually a hassle to get the IV and EV you want legit, which is why people would cheat in Pokes for the purpose of just battling with them.

I will say that locking the files should still be done though. In the real games, people have to use cheating devices or other means to hack in their battling Pokes, so someone will just need to make a Gameshark program for P3D too. Also, much too easy to edit the wrong thing in one file and get yourself stuck. Editing the team you have is one thing, but changing maps and locations and whatever else is a little much, even through a cheat device IMO.

It(EV,IV training) being a hassle is kind of the point, If you want stronger pokemon then someone else, work at it, if you cheat in the perfect pokemon, then why even battle someone else. On the other hand, you really don't need EV or IV training in single player.

I think a paid (ingame) service that will perfect your IVs would be a good idea....
