IVs have the biggest influence on the stats in the game and I prefer to have all of my pokemon have the exact same potential than the variety....If atleast you could reliably ensure that a pokemon with perfect IVs transfered those to their kid that would be great(like if it holds an everstone while mating the child will get its ability, nature, and IVs) or maybe a mix of both parents instead of three from the mom and the other 3 random like it is now(which is stupid) for being the biggest influence on stats it is the least controlable......and that is bad...
for anyone that doesn't know, gender is based on attack IV's and females get the butt end of that.
Which again is stupid.........

Actually that was a gen 1-2 feature
Gender is now determined by a seperate value called the personality value which determines nature, shinies, pokeathelon atributes, ability and the location of spinda's spots

the location of spinda's spots
lol
Yeah...

Spinda has four spots: two on its face, and one on each of its ears. Each of the four bytes represents the coordinates of the spot on Spinda's face or ears. The first four digits of each byte represents the x-coordinate of the top left of the spot when translated into decimal notation, while the last four represent the y-coordinate of the top left of the spot when translated into decimal. There are 4,294,967,296 different spot variations.

also determines wurmple's Evolution :)

I just checked and IV's are a 1:1 ratio (1 IV = 1 stat point, regardless of level), where as EVs are 4:1 (4 EV = 1 stat point). So it's not super important number wise, but it is still based on luck to an extent. You get 1 stat from the mother, 1 from father, 1 from random parent, then 3 completely random.

Only way to really work on it would keep breeding until you had perfect of each gender, then use the baby for fights, assuming you wanted to breed more later.

If it wasn't so luck based, like choosing IVs to pass down from parents at the breeder when you did have good ones, then I'd take that instead so there's some amount of randomness and you can keep breeding over and over for a sort of evolution (real like kind, not Pokemon kind) over time.
