I updated, with the mod, to the new version of the game, 0.22, but it looks as if the game's back to normal. How do I make it the 1YL mod again?
ouch.
thats a mistake that happened to a few people.
you need to reframe from downloading updates within the mod.
if updated. it will replace all of the mods files with the Official Pokemon3D.

to play 1yl, you have to download it again.
but however, version Chp 1.2[0.22] will be up soon. just hang tight
Okay, no biggie, might wanna add that to the opening post then perhaps? ^^ May help other people not make the same mistake I made. Will wait until the next update then :) Looked great for the 5 minutes I played btw, keep it up!

Hey, Shou, how are you updating your mod? The launcher removes the mod data.
yu have to just reinstall the mod. the old files won't be able to do offset loading but you should be able to play 1yl still. when shou ports his changes to the new maps (or just adds the offset loading tags or something, but trees changed too) you could play it with that working.

otherwise, install the last version and install the mod on that, don't update (click cancel when it asks)

The Way i update is Removing the download in Media Fira and replace with with the new Version.

so the Moddata file will have to wait until its completly done (which i dont know the arrangements for it.)

In anycase, im done with this nice update~
the story will progress further when Goldenrod is completed. I'll be posting the new link soon. so hang tight!

yeah i'm working on a way to make it easier for both the author and the end user to use these things, vade. we'll work something out

hopefully we work it out before we have to kill the current modding methods to make multiplayer viable :p

Lol, sounds awesome. I'm actually gonna try to get two releases out before Goldenrod is added. I'm working on a side quest right now. So, try not to change things until then :D

when my system is in place modding wont be much different, you just put it into its own folder, inside the folder will be basically your /pokemon/ folder where you can put maps in /maps/ and textures in /content/textures and all that, but it wont have to overwrite our files (because we really really wish you didnt and only allow it because its the only way you can mod now)

Lol yup, I don't like overwriting them either. That way sounds really good, then updating wouldn't affect it. Maybe one day we'll be able to make it so if you have mods installed, when you start a new game, you can chose which mod to play :D

you dont see that screen unless you got a mod installed btw, completely unmodded clients will just take the user straight to the intro when you click new game like it does now. if there are mods it lists them, you select one and click teh button and it plays that mods intro instead. i havent gotten it much further than that though

from there its a simple matter of loading the content from the versions folder for the active mod, and getting pokemon data from the generation it set (or /content/pokemon/data if you're making it a new map collection for the base game and not something totally new).

yep, thats basically Mod Loading in p3d. content packs are a different system and must be set before you start the game in your options.dat (this may be built into the launcher but someone is making a mod installer that could do that for you ;) ) but the 'mods' people make are just new content and data, so it only needs to load if the character belongs to the mod. it'll activate the mod when you load into a character from the mod or start a new game. nice and easy
