double and triple battles and mods

I've been having a lot of fun double battling in soulsilver, then I read about triple battles in gen 5 and got an idea

Looking at the triple battle rules you could probably make it work all the way up to 6 pokemon on the field. p3d itself may not find a use for it, but if the system were general enough to scale up to 6 on 6 pokemon fights mods could use it. i don't know how well 6 on 6 would work but it'd be interesting what people could do with it.

like, it seems you could make all kinds of jrpgs with a pokemon engine. just something to keep in mind when double and triple battles are implemented. the rules stay consistent in single, double and double battles, its just that once you get past double battles adjacency comes into play, but that too is a mechanic that can scale all the way to 6 pokemon.

i feel like it could be set up in a way where the code can take a battle that has 1-6 pokemon a side, and the game would have to space the sprites apart and zoom the camera out enough to reasonably accomodate all the pokemon on the field. so in implementing double and triple battles it also allows battles all the way to 6 in case a mod uses that. it'd be of limited use but it'd kinda just come for free if that scenario is kept in mind from the outset

Suggestion for Nilllzz to make the battle system more flexible so modders can add Tag Teams and Triple battles later on if possible as it is now it is fixed to a single battle and there is no way for modders to do anything about it.

This is a suggestion for Nilllzz or for the "Modding Team"?
this is a suggestion for nilllzz to implement double and triple battles in a way thats flexible enough to do 6 on 6 fights using pokemon's battle rules and leveling system etc. i think it'd be interesting to give modders that power. i just think the feature could come pretty much for free if the system is designed with the idea that it could be any number of pokemon from 1-6. rules remain the same the entire way, you just have pokemon move from center above 3 and distribute across the player's side of the field, with the camera zooming out a certain amount per pokemon on the field to get them in view (the cameras set up for a single pokemon and 2 big pokemon in a double battle would look wrong as is so this sort of thing is something you gotta do to have double battles in the first place, might as well support more than what we need while we're at it

something i thought of when i was going to bed: if we have 4 player coop how do we get all those players to play together? maybe if they're nearby they join eachothers fights, all the way up to 4 pokemon on the field per side. gym leaders could have 3 apprentices join in :D 4 player pokemon coop all the way through. could even have wild pokemon appear in a pack all players take down in a Quad Battle
