I have created a Gamejolt account, it looks pretty cool. Also, it was a hard choice, but I went with the cyndaquil pokemon. (I am bit of a pyro myself) lol. Thanks for all the advice! I haven't come across and shiny pokemon yet, but no surprises there. This game is quite addicting.

Yes there is, you should continue onwards through the route, to the next place and inter the building with a red spinning sign. There you can heal your Pokemon, the one with the blue spinnig sign is the mart where you will be able to buy stuff.

Well I assumed you could catch more, I just didn't know if you could have more than one at once out or how to go about catching them.

The apricorns will be used later in-game. ^^ Just keep advancing.

I should note that when you catch pokemon, you should level it around your best pokemons level. It will become usefull in your second rival battle.

The main goal is to just have fun, that's what games are about! Don't worry, I've been playing pokemon since red and blue version (about 13-14 years) and I'm still learning. Your first playthrough is a learning experience, so don't worry too much about making all perfect decisions

Yeah, I was one of the many that chose Charmander at the beginning of red version. My very first decision playing pokemon and I made the wrong one lol That made Brock incredibly hard, but my pokemon were stronger because of that

Guise... I think I just goofed. I'm about 95% sure I was fighting a shiny Growlith, the only Growlith Ive even seen... I switched pokemon because I didnt want my onyx to kill him in one hit. Then he just growled at me and ran away... DID I DO IT WRONG?? sigh. so mad at myself.
