Idk if this is the place to ask it, (if not i could make a separate thread) but could you go into detail on how to do it? Im kinda curious. And until now hadnt really played much pokemon since like gen 2 games. Maybe a bit of gen 3 was the last pokemon games I had played until now. And that was a good 10 years ago. Pokemon 3d is back to my childhood :p But a lot of new things I dont know about.

Alright, I'll try to give you a good enough explanation of how he told me.
You got to the place of the Pokémon you want shiny, take a Hoothoot for example which has an incredible find-ratio at night. (Try to find the best spot for finding a Pokémon. Day, Night, Morning, Evening.)
Find one and defeat it. When you've defeated it, move atleast 4 blocks away from the place where you just defeated the Hoothoot.
Defeat the Pokémon and the chain will start.
Repeat that cycle until you get a shiny, if another shiny appears, a Caterpie for example, the chain for the Hoothoot will be interrupted and you'll have to start again.

(Id quote but it may get really long. Haha)

^^^So youre saying i could chain magikarp, just go to the lake of rage, defeat one, move at least 4 blocks away, then what? Like, move 4+ blocks to the left, and if I find another magikarp, Ive stared it..? And keep going 4 blocks left/right/up/down whatever? And if I find a gyarados I effed it up? Haha

Yeah, but only if it is a Shiny Gyarados, your chain will be broken. (That is, if I understood correctly myself. :p )

Damn. I understand it now. I thought that if I find another not shiny pokemons chain will interrupt >_<.

Sorry if I sound like a dumb n00b, Im just still slightly confused about the whole concept.
Simply version.
Find Pokémon you want > Defeat it > Move 4 blocks away > Find Pokémon > defeat > repeat > Get shiny.
Haha ok. Thank you. One last question, I heard something about repels being needed? Do I need to use them? If not, if I encounter a pokemon Im attempting to chain before those moving 4 blocks away, is it shot?

Yup.
Find A SHINY, no matter which one, and you'll have to start over again.

It still sounds like a win win tho. Haha. If Im chaining for a shiny magikarp and find a shiny of ANYTHING else, Id still want it and be happy. haha
