Do any of you know how to get it to run in linux. I have Wine with Mono and when ever i tried to run it gave me the Pokemon folder but the launcher didn't open.

If I am correct and the game is written using microsofts .net framework (I know the lancher requires the .net framework not sure about the game its self) then Linux users might be screwed, last time I checked they didn't have a .net port for Linux... now open suse has less support then Ubuntu you may have better luck finding a port on Ubuntu... also have you tried CrossoverLiux (I think that was what it was called) it helped me Microsoft office working perfectly fine so it may help you.

I got it to work in ubuntu 13.04, PlayOnLinux 4.2.1, Wine 1.5.28
Needs to be 32 bit wine.
Make a new virtual drive
Install dotnet40 xna40 d3dx9 directmusic directplay wmp9
Put the launcher in the virtual drive created for this
Than make a shortcut for pokemon3d ( most likely not needed, but will make launching it easier)
Let it download the latest version, than play it
than press M to mute it and it works for me

For mac users there is www.playonmac.com I have tried it at all

virtual machines are always an answer, why worry about your OS when you can have windows running in a window while you run your linux that is running windows?

Or if you're really feeling adventurous, having a virtual machine running in a separate tty console or on a separate face of Compiz. It's really more of an issue of which gives you the smaller performance drop. Of course, if you have a really fast computer, running virtualbox is arguably much easier.
