Converting hack games?

Is anyone interested in converting hack games to Pokemon3D, like Liquid Crystal, Shiny Gold, Flora Sky, or Pokemon Brown?

It would be most tricky.
Currently there are only 3 Published modders :/ and we've been here since January (or maybe before then)
So, finding support for this would be very hard.
Are you asking this as a request, or maybe you would actually like to work on this with someone?

I don't know how to program. I just figured that using established hacks as a basis for new game modes would be a good way to save effort and provide a "proof of concept."

I would personally like to see one for pokemon Brown...and without all of the bugs that it had......
I might do that after Silver's soul and Hoenn are done and by that time prism should be done as well

Doubt it will happen right away, but you should give it a try if you know how to mod. If you don't, try learning. I know how to but I am much to lazy for stuff like that

if you need examples theres a lot of files in the base game, and lost silver covered pretty much everything. setting one up, mapping, warps, scripts, battles, custom pokemon, custom attacks etc

The reason for lack of modders i think is the XNA format. Had the game been made in another game engine, i think it would be easier to convert files, etc. Just my opinion though i may be wrong.

i dont know where it is possible atm but nilllzz added the ability to load PNG files for something recently. it is not how you're supposed to use XNA at all but we could maybe allow the use of PNG files for textures and sprites.

we can't really just stop using XNA at this point

I played Liquid Crystal, Shiny Gold, Flora Sky, these are good games, but LC and SG need to be combined in Kolben. FS have great region, so this need to be added as extra region, that will be cool. Same for PB region Rijon need to be added as extra region too. I recommend one more region Evoran from Pokemon Obsidian Pokemon Obsidian link 2

I played a few hack games. I recommend the Ruby destiny ones.Those are really interesting for hack games.

we can't really help unless you tell us what you changed.

please make a backup of the game before you edit game files, backup your saves if you edit your save files. it will save you a lot of trouble if your first attempt doesn't work. if only so you can refer back to what works and compare it to yours
