or we can just have it how it was? Rare Candies can only be found in thier actual Locations and NPCs giving them to you. like how the original game did

But in G/S/C, you could buy rare candies from someone in the goldenrod tunnel (if you will)

i dont remember that part.well, it has been a long time ago since i first played it.
but yeah, it should be exactly how G/S/C was.

But, thats what We modders are for. we Mod the Game so we can do what we want in them.

Well, I do actually remember rare candies being able to be bought, but on certain days though.

but anyway, if Pokemon 3D tends to start at Classic Johto, then it should be just like it.
again, it all depends what Nills wants

Yeah. I honestly remember an old lady selling rare candies and nuggets in the Goldenrod tunnels.

^I don't think they have that in a old g/s/c games if there's any proof or any evidence it does. I don't mind to see it, until then I played a silver and crystal games and I don't think I ever encounter a such person.

I do remember that lady. Even in HG/SS, there is a store thing in the tunnel up the very top.

rare candies have always been and shall always be one of the prized items of pokemon

however, with the introduction of EV's, rare candies have become looked down upon by serious trainers.

This is what they do and what we should know about them:
-raise a pokemon by 1 level INSTANTLY. activating any effects such as learning a move or evolving
-cannot be bought (at least with the BASIC amount of currency existing in all games)
-very small amount exist in one map and once they are gone, they're gone

with the introduction of EV's players became more inclined to actually raise their pokemon through battle as opposed to candies. This was, of course, do to the fact that rare candies did not supplement ev's for the pokemon, thus the more rare candies used the less EV's could be gotten.

what are EV's:
-stands for Effort Values
-everything a pokemon battles grants some amount of EV's
-a pokemon can have a TOTAL of 510 EV's
-every 4 EV's grant +1 to a stat
-one stat can have a maximum of 255 EV's
-every pokemon involved in a battle recieves the same amount of EV's period
for more info go here http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EV

anyways, the reason rare candies can be considered 'bad' is because it takes away all those battles a pokemon would have to be in to acquire that level

This means, the higher the level, the worse the penalty is for using rare candies

so in essence, rare candies AREN'T bad if used early on, but are more damaging to a pokemon stats if used in higher levels

Its actually not that bad to use Rare candies for the levels and then just ev train other wise
evs can be gained and applied to a pokemon's stats at any level
just put the pokemon in the box and take it out again and it's stats have been re calculated

actually, its better to train a Pokemon from the moment thier hatched, there you can EVs Train. when you reached the maximum amount of EVs you have earn which is 510. you wont be able to recieve any more. from then on after when training is complete, its a hassle to Lvl them up afterwards in some occasion, so Rare Candies are in a welcome comity when we want to. basically, its not good to use Rare Candy on a Early State because the Evolution from its previous state could increase and multply when the Pokemon Evolve, which of course does not effect pokemon that does not have a Prevolution or a Evolution.
