What is your favorite Gen and why?

You really should try Gen 5, pretty nice aswell, well designed Pokémon (Haxorus, Zoruark) and a bunch of new Stuff, like new Battletypes, new Moves, etc. The Story is ok aswell

My DS. Lite was given away after I finished Gen 4. Never to be seen again... : ( Cause my nephew lost it = -=; But I am thinking about grabbing a 3ds for Fire Emblem awk. :3

No, do you know why it's mainstream? Because everyone agrees. Everyone knows it's a horrible game. The people that do like it, are ether the same kind of people that would like Sonic 06' and it really stubborn, I feel that you just don't want to be like everyone else. Like a hipster.

Oh God Tell me, whats so horrible about Gen 4? What's so watered down about the over-world adventure? People never give a reason to their opinion.

I haven't played it 'till Platinum came out so it'll be hard to explain, but I'll try my best:

1: By what I remember, the over-world was big and boring, like too big so it required a lot too much walking around, and there wasn't really anything interesting through out the cities.

2: The bases and buildings we're really boring too. I remember a wind-works base or something, that had an uninteresting layout, that just felt like you were walking through an empty room, you know what I mean?

3: The story was uninteresting, it was kind of cool at first, but it just kind of dragged on, and I lost interest, and didn't have anything that really got me excited(Except the Garitina world, that was cool).

4: I didn't like the graphic style, I found it really ugly. But it makes sense why someone else would like it.

5: The music was OK but nothing special, I can remember 1 or 2 songs, but everything else was very unmemorable. I never really liked the soundtrack, like it wasn't bad, but it kind of bored me through the game.

6: I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I'm really busy, and haven't played it in at least 4-5 years.

Mine came with a Giratina toy = 3=

1. Graphics were well done.

2. Environmental interactions and design were dulled down. For example; Secret bases, dive, bunny hop biking and the likes were removed. But they added more interesting mechanics like ramp jumping and... sadly the one time only 3d world of SHRROOOMS @-@

3. Music was good.

4. Pokemon were pretty cool and uncool. @-@; I like my Eevee but hated the BEES!

5. I liked honey trees... not going to lie = 3=

6. Platinum introduced many online interaction features. Not so well done... But they had it.

8. So serious that it skipped a number. I didn't like the adventure... that's about it. It was still a pretty cool game though.

1: Its bigger yes. Requires too much walking around? Use the bike if you dont like to explore the overworld. It's borring? So...you say well designed, and logic places are borring? Deal with it.

2: Did you even play the game? The Knofensa Tower is empty and boring aswell..that doesnt make Gen 2 bad

3: So the older Gen 1 and 2 had a Story?

4: Can't argue with that.

5: That's your opinion ok, but the Music is of the same Style as in Gen 1 or 2, just the quality improved. ^^

I honestly hate Gen 4, and I thought it was completely uninteresting, and found no enjoyment in it what so ever.
I had Pearl, and Platinum, and I thought Platinum was even worse, and sold it later. I could barely sit through Pearl let alone Platinum.
My favourite is Gen 2. I could play Gen 2 over and over again, and never get bored. It's interesting, and has some amazing songs.

I just read this and I have to say its pretty stupid. Comparing Gen 4 to Sonic 06 is no where near justified! Sonic06 was a rushed,broken and simply unfinished game while the Gen 4 games are actually strong main series games.
You dont have to love them ,but comparing them to something this god awful is just borderline insanity.

2: Knofensa Tower? Oh, sprout tower. Yeah, but that was one area, I remember the whole game being boring.
And yes, I've played it, I can take a picture of my Pearl case if you want.
3: Yes, it did. Very minor, but it did. Maybe Pearl had too much story, and that's what I didn't like about it.

5: I disagree, I found it too slow.

You know what, I'm going to replay it, it's been so long. Then I'll tell you my opinion. But that won't be for a while.

wut You said u think Gen 4 is/was boring but whats so boring about cool pokemon, good graphics, good music, new environmental interactions, honey trees, online features and new eevee evolutions? All Gens have cool and uncool Pokemon and interesting and boring places, like the Rocket Base in Gen 1 or Grimer from Gen 1 (srsly...wtf?). Every Gen has its downsides.

Yeah, it was a bad comparison, but it was the only bad game I could think of. I find that I don't understand why people enjoy Gen 4. Like Sonic 06, some people like it, and I don't understand why... I don't understand how people can enjoy Gen 4.

Yeah, it was a bad comparison, but it was the only bad game I could think of. I find that I don't understand why people enjoy Gen 4. Like Sonic 06, some people like it, and I don't understand why... I don't understand how people can enjoy Gen 4.

Watch the review I posted and maybe it will enlighten you to why people are able to like Gen 4.

My opinion,Is how it stands. The game was still boring to me ever since. I'm viewing from a different audience here. I'm not going to hate the game, or even say it's good. I just felt boredom.

I do have to admit, I did like the Pokemon in gen 4. Honey trees.... I just don't care, and that's just my opinion, I understand why other people like it, but I never did headbutt in Gen 2 ether.
I didn't like the music or graphics in gen 4. I don't really like the 3D models, I prefer the brighter sprites. And the music was kind of slow, but the main problem is that it's too calming, and boring, it's a Pokemon game, not a lullaby, though some of them get more exciting, I still don't like it, it uses weird sounds, and has too much going on. here's a few examples:
