What is your favorite Gen and why?

I honestly hate Gen 4, and I thought it was completely uninteresting, and found no enjoyment in it what so ever.
I had Pearl, and Platinum, and I thought Platinum was even worse, and sold it later. I could barely sit through Pearl let alone Platinum.
My favourite is Gen 2. I could play Gen 2 over and over again, and never get bored. It's interesting, and has some amazing songs.

Gen 1 and Gen 3 were my favorites. In Gen 1 i didn't feel a need to rush, but the remakes made it feel introductory level... As for gen 3, it gave me new mechanics to check out. The gameplay and things to do were amazingly fun. BUNNY HOP adventures!
Gen 2 and the remakes, i didn't really get the chance to play because some one robbed me of my gba and game ... T0T... Eevee... I'll miss you... Wish I had a hero to have help me save it from team rocket when I was younger.
Gen 4 was really boring in my honest opinion. The over-world adventure felt watered down. And building secret bases underground was a lot less fun...
I have honestly never touched Gen 5.

Sounds like you're following the Mainstream. ^^ No own Opinion, no reason why you dont like it.
No, do you know why it's mainstream? Because everyone agrees. Everyone knows it's a horrible game. The people that do like it, are ether the same kind of people that would like Sonic 06' and it really stubborn, I feel that you just don't want to be like everyone else. Like a hipster.

You really should try Gen 5, pretty nice aswell, well designed Pokémon (Haxorus, Zoruark) and a bunch of new Stuff, like new Battletypes, new Moves, etc. The Story is ok aswell

In my opinion Gen 4 and 5 are the best and here is why : Gen 4 did the split between physical and special attacks and that was something ive been begging for. I think the towns had a nice and homey feel to them.
And the biggest plus (imo) The legendary encounters
soooo epic and the Arceus theme is still the best piece of music in Pokemon to this date.
Gen 4 had hands down the best remakes btw HG+SS=Pure awesome.
Reasons to Gen 5 : There is just so much to do in this game.
-There is an option for hardcore or easy mode
-The gyms are all creative and cool looking
-the music
-the new battle types
-fanbase support by nintendo (constant tournaments)
-dream world abilities
-PWT
-F**KING MUSICALS!!!
-Zoruark is an awesome Pokemon
-they added dreamworld abilities (sweet)
-a story that is actually pretty cool
-the rival in B/W2 is just hilarious
-amazing online mode
etc.
I could just be here for ever listing awesome things in the Gen 5 games ,but I wont be.

My DS. Lite was given away after I finished Gen 4. Never to be seen again... : ( Cause my nephew lost it = -=; But I am thinking about grabbing a 3ds for Fire Emblem awk. :3SNIP
