Btw, when have you scheduled you going to hardcode the player data? Because up until that point, you can easily just remove & add the moves yourself.

Hardcode save data? o_O That....wut?...doesn't even make any sense.

So that you can't change around in your game files. I read somewhere a while ago that you were eventually going to do that.

Understand that the game is still in its early stages, this means that there is not going to be a lot of file security for files that are still being worked on.

As more and more of the games files are brought up to almost perfect coding. They might be implemented as one bigger program that is less prone to being modified by outside sources.

Another thing about early stage is that Dev Team is working hard on important elements of the game. This means a lot of minor bugs hold less priority.

The benefit of having open files that can be modified by players is that (with a little knowledge of coding of course) can modify and fix minor problems (such as moves) themselves.

This makes games more manageable for players and saves a lot of stress in the long run

Don't get me wrong, I am well aware how early the game is in development & I've played ever since before the first gym, I am just curious how the schedule is to this kind of stuff.

Don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but you can simple delete or learn skills/attacks to your pokemon yourself. You'd just have to delete (ex.) 'attack4 - cut' from your pokemons attack list, and let it learn another one, by either looking up an attack or letting it level until it learns it out of itself.

Things wrong with this:
- assumes we will always have access to game files
- assumes everyone knows how to modify game files
- assumes all moves are implimented
- assumes people know what they're doing period
- assumes my babbulz can be burst

You could always set a flag when an HM is used, and prevent deleting that HM until the flag is reset. (For example, when the player starts surfing, disable deleting Surf until the player enters a zone marked as safe for being without surf.)

It would be too much work. And the programming for this flag system would be tedious and possibly buggy since its something that's never been done before

okay so I think this would be really nice what if instead of an HM taking up one of the four slots you give each Pokemon like 4 extra slots for HMs but you could not use them in battle if you wanted to use them in battle you could put it in your main 4 moves just an idea to make this possible though I mean after all you don't want to copy the games

As I said before this would require a whole entire new code that's never been done before, it would be tedious to differentiate between moves you could use and moves you couldn't use.

On the subject of this game vs. GameFreak. Yes WE DO want this to be a canon pokemon game, this game is to be as close to the real thing, with added bonuses.

What Pokemon 3D is, is a 3D interpretation of all the pokemon games and generations following the same storyline. And this is okay because it's not for profit and it has already been stated that all intellectual property belongs to GameFreak.
