Unrestricted Movement

Hello all, I have an idea but have no idea how to implement it. I would like to play the game with unrestricted movement, I feel like it would be more fun than moving space by space, however, I know there are many complications with my request. I just thought I'd throw it out there for someone who might know how to tackle this.

Here are some things I can think of that might cause problems:
Coordinate detection for scripts and such?
Walking through specific spots and/or grass?
Clipping issues?

This was a question yesterday in the chat with nilllzz - he said he wouldn't implement it because this is how Pokemon works...

not possible atm sorry

i want to make the move grid a bit less rigid down the line but for now you're stuck to floors

you can turn on diagonal movement in your save, which is almost as good

Nilllzz disabled it because a lot of people were reporting bugs that were caused by diagonal movement and got a bit tiresome to retrace their steps just to find out they had diagonal movement on
