I don't think it's possible at the moment, because your character use a sprites. If you want to use a hat or something similar, you need to change the entire sprites. So for every hat, you need to have all the sprites with that.

Number of sprites with hat = Actual sprites number * Number of hats

Not to mention the custom sprites. But it is only a guess.

We can just edit current sprites I'll go ask my friend who can do pixel art. To see if I can test if it will work.

That's not true, you just need to split the sprites, and then in-game put them together, having one of them represent the head, with each hat. It's not actually that hard to do.

The equation still the same.

Number of head sprites with hat = Actual head sprites number * Number of hats

So I don't understand what's the point.

It's still just a neat customization feature. But lets say there's 10 hats, that's only about 30 sprites. 3 per hat. And they're really easy to make too. Like seconds to make.

There are 8 different heads (I'm not counting the NPC) ATM in the game.

8 Heads * 10 Hats = 80 different head sprites

Not to count that every sprite has 4 different angulations. So:

80 Heads with hat * 4 Angulations = 320 images to do

It's not that simple for someone who have more important priorities...

Oh yeah, per character. But two angles, are just mirrored copies, and the hat can be the same sprite for all characters, Infact we could have a hat-less youngster, and be able to use that hat on other characters, since it's already done, and other hats, from other characters.

It shouldn't work, in the practice, because there is no login or online users in the game, so, anybody could create or copy some hats in the files

content packs were made with this sort of thing in mind. you can put a hat on anything you wish, it just only shows up in your client.

if we get some sort of online services going there might be custom sprites. who knows?
