Confirmed [Indev 0.53] Can View Result of Future Turn via Items

When using an item during Battle only, the stats screen "Predicts" the screen before the remainder of the turn is actually played out. I've tried to see if this was alread reported, but haven't found it

What I expected to happen:
After healing a pokemon with any item, status etc... To show the current situation

What actually happened:
The status screen changes to reflect the situation as is will be AFTER the current turn finishes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Get a pokemon hurt in battle
2. Use an item like max potion/full restore/etc...
3. Instead of fully healing you pokemon (Th text box describes it correctly though) you should see the HP of your current in-battle pokemon change (Or status, depending on the move the opponent will use AFTER you used the item)
4. While the status message is displayed ("HP of XXX Restored by XX points") you will see "the future" instead of the current situation. (It made me think a chesto berry was broken, because it said "cured from paralysis" but it still showed the indicator of it... Then after the item screen closed, opp used thunderwave.)

The reason why you couldn't find a reported case was because the bug was fixed in an earlier version...

...sort of.

For simple fighting, it's fixed. I guess it's still an issue with items. I'll make this "the" thread.

I just discovered this also seems to be the case with weather. If the any pokemon is using a weather changing move, it will appear so from the start of the turn, but before the move is actually used. i.e. clear weather, I select a move, then it's raining suddenly, my pokemon moves first, then opp uses Raindance. It doesn't look like weather effect is activated prematurely though. (opp used sandstorm after me, but my pokemon did not receive damage even though the weather already changed visually) Just the appearance.

I believe these are known bugs with the current version of the battle system, they'll probably get fixed when the system gets finalized.

The opponent's pokemon also use moves like they would know if you would heal your pokemon. For example: My pokemon was confused and had not much HP. I used Full Restore and the opponent used Confuse Ray.

That could also just as likely be a lucky guess on the A.I.'s behalf. Probably not related to this bug.

Wild pokemon AI is bad indeed. They will use status moves even if there would be no effect. Original games had this as well though, so I suppose that's intentional.

However, I've seen an instance where a trainer did not use a healing item even though their pokemon was in the red, then my move missed, next turn they healed. I don't think it has something to do with the item screen bug I reported here though.

Oh. I didn't think this was in the original games as well. If that's the case, then it must be intentional.

It's not intentional exactly. it's how the AI works, if the AI has has moves that are not effective, it does not use them. that's why it ends up with using status moves more frequently.
