Lets just say - those are the models im currently using and editing... If it wasnt for that website - We would only have about a hand full of 3D pokemon since they take so long to make...

And since you left, no one has offered to take your place. And by the looks of it, no one will. But it was a shame to see you go, and we will continue to look for a new modeler. And yes it is hard to do a model, let alone over 800. We hope to find a modeler soon, or we will have to shut down the idea of having them.

You forgot to quote the 'or'. There is still hope if anyone wants to do it, but if you made that decision already, then they could be a content pack.

i removed the or on purpose
at this point unless someone comes to us with a complete set of models they wont be in the official game
we might look into support for animating models if we see someone able to do it but the difficulty of animating models in our current setup was part of the decision to kill the models altogether

Ah well, if anyone has the time (and lots of it) you could make a few models and show them here.

On another note, has the topic of using models from other sources like Pixelmon or somewhere else come up? It could work, maybe. I know you'd have to ask for permission first, but it could make things a whole lot easier.

Lets put it this way, just modelling a pokemon can take a full days worth of 3D work. Animating means you have to redo the model to allow animations. Adding extra contours, extra polys, extra everything. Then moving it by adding a skeleton. Now since all pokemon are different shapes and sizes - that increases to the complexity of the animations.

I plan to help out a little if nilllzz and dark need a few things modelled. I did add a lot but i dont think i am capable of being full time modeller/animator. My mind is on so many other projects and since i will have a ton of free time (besides playing RUST) im sure i can assist with any requests...

As long as the game has support for models on content packs its enough for me, someone will eventually continue your work, and i dont care about animations.

Not at the moment. In the future it could if someone decides to pick this up again, but for now, the battle system stays the way it is.

And this is why we CAN have nice things. The battle system will stay the way it is, AND, it also supports the 3D models. Although Pika does remember the days where Darky would be trying to eat Pika...
