in a way it is but if you play a pokemon game from a emulator it is impossible to get pokemon that only evolves by trading.

If it's for those reasons, sure. But other than that, no.

i usually do it for that and i make a shiny pokemon to see how it looks in the game to help me decide if i wanna hunt down a shiny version of it xp ima go and get a licklicky xp

why useless? i don't use fire pokemons at all (except Charmander :3).

No Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Outrage, etc.
