Not Responding at Skin Selection

Ataash

Trainer
I can't even begin a new game; I've moved to my desktop recently, which is considerably more powerful than my laptop where the game worked just fine.

Now, very single time I start a new game and Oak asks me for my name; the game stops responding at the skin selection screen. "Pokemon is not responding."

There's no actual crash or crash report, it just stops responding and I can't figure out why. It's getting on my last nerve, because I can run it just fine on my laptop which is running the exact same OS only with weaker hardware. My entire PC is an AMD/ATI build if that means much.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Other details:

Running the Launcher from its own folder on my Desktop.

General Specs:
16GB DDR3 Ripjaws
AMD-FX-4300 Quad Core 3.7 - 4.0 GHz
Radeon R7 260X Sapphire OC Edition 2GB GDDR5

Yeah, no problem.

It's a reasonable assumption that you have corrupted skin data (or similar data).
I would suggest deleting your Content, maps, and Scripts folders as well as your Pokemon.exe and meta files. Once done, I would download the game through the launcher again.

Did just that, same problem.

I originally thought it could be an outdated Launcher or something like that, so I even downloaded the most recent launcher and went from there.

Outside of that, I'm not entirely sure what else to try.
@nilllzz and @Darkfire, maybe y'all can see the problem?

You run AMD correct?

Try altering some of the settings in your AMD Catalyst Control Center program. I once continued to crash in-game until I figured out that one of the settings was bad on my control center.

I'm gonna try something and if it's what I think then I'll feel like an idiot.

Nope, all of my CCC settings aside from specific games are chosen by the application.

Something that occurred to me; I'm not sure if the game relies on java or not anymore; but I do have Java 64 bit installed and not Java 32 bit if that could pose as a problem.

Other than that all I can think of is maybe a background app causing problems.

I run both Bit Defender and Malwarebytes Premium in the background; but neither of them have flagged anything.

It seems that I have fixed the problem.

I went in to Properties and decided to see if running it in compatibility mode would do anything.

Running the game in Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 fixed the problem immediately.

At least this crash log tell us about the effects. Try turn off all grahpics content pack to see if it works.

Alright, so I did some experimenting; the add on packs had zero effect on or off.

However, I can replicate the error by doing something specific.

I was streaming the game at the time, the program I use is Mishira; I noticed that every single time I loaded Mishira first, then Pokemon3D; the game would crash at the splash screen. It never failed.

However, when I loaded Pokemon3D first; everything worked totally fine. I haven't tested it with other streaming software; but Mishira was definitely the culprit; or at least something linked to it was. I may test it with OBS or even XSplit to see if it replicates across all streaming software.
