I guess you updated the game wrongly and your current savegame is stored somewhere else.
There is no way the game would be able to "downgrade" your save state like that.

Where did you start the game from before updating?

So, I know this might be a little confusing, but here goes:
The game stores its save files relative to where the .exe file for the launcher is.
So when you store the launcher .exe file (the one that can update the game) in C:\Users\User\Desktop\launcher.exe, the save file will be in C:\Users\User\Desktop\Pokemon\Save

I guess that you at some point have download the initial launcher, played about 6 hours while having the launcher still in the download folder, then moved the game's files AND the launcher to some other place on your computer, and played there until today.
Then you downloaded the new launcher file to the Downloads folder again, where your old save file still exists. So when you start the new launcher while it is in the Downloads folder, it will find and play your old save file.
You need to find out where you copied the launcher and game files to and where you newer save is, and replace the "Pokemon3D.exe" file with the new one you downloaded.

But when you said

Well... I never placed my save file anywhere... i kept it in the place it is supposed to be in.

So when you start the game like you did before updating, the old save file is also there?

the old launcher has 0.52
the new one has 0.51
i updated the old launcher to 0.52 before i knew there would be an error
my new launcher does not have 0.52 available

Can you open the Pokemon\Save\yoursavefile\ folder and right click > Properties any file in there and look what the Created/Modified/Accessed dates say?
