What features does multiplayer actually have?

I've been watching watching youtube videos of multiplayer, but all I've seen is that you can see the other player. Can you battle, trade or otherwise interact with the other player?

The game is in early stages, so there aren't much co-op stuff to do, so you have to wait for a future update that makes it able to trade and battle with other players.

At the moment I think it's only the ability to talk to the other player through chat while in-game.

I hope for a Co-op PWT-ish feature in the future.

I really like the idea of the multiplayer! I hope that it becomes more integrated, and that you can have like 2v2 battles and what not! that would be freaking sick!
