attempting sprites, opinions needed please...

So this is the first time I've tried sprite art and just completed one back sprite off my original design of an evolve form for Octillery, at the moment I've called it Octillitank:

= First design.

= First back-sprite.

Please give me advice and opinions =]

The sprite has one more tentacle than in your demo picture, and the point of his head looks small. If you don't mind me asking what is that squiggly line running up it's head? It seams to start from the side, and head to the back on your sprite. Also the bottom yellow circle has an odd smushed shape to it.

Don't let my negative comments get you down though it is a really good sprite, and I am impressed by it. I hope to see even more sprites made by you in the future.

Yea as I was making it I decided that one more tentacle just suited to even it out and I changed the point on his head into a cuttlefish like fin just so it had that wavey motion as it swam. I'll fix the lower facial orb, it does look to flat. I'm also nearly done with the other back sprite too.

I like it a lot! I think it's a pretty cool evolution. I'm a lover of Water-types, so I think this is great. I have no real criticism on the matter, though.

Oh, will it be a dual-type, or?

Yea I was thinking perhaps Krakken like, fire and water (since evolve set is based off weaponery) but it would be the first, or else cannon like using beam attacks like ice beam, hyper beam, solar beam etc and keeping it straight water.
Let me know your thoughts?

Hm. Fire/Water type seems interesting but imo, it'd be kind of weird since they're opposite types. If you do choose to go that route, make it Water/Fire.

Maybe Water/Rock? Water/Poison is neat, but since it's based off of a squid; they have ink not toxins... you could always go with Water/Psychic

I thought Water/Fire only since Pokémon like Lanturn that are Water/Electric, also some 5th gens like Stunfisk, Galvantula, Volcarona, and Emolga have opposite types too, I'm sure Water/Fire will appear in 6th gen if not maybe 7th lol just trying ta beat them to it.

it can walk on the ground and swim in the watter

Haha thanks I'm glad it didn't come out too bad, just need to improve my pixel eyes to get some really good ones done. Shall I do the other sprites for this pokemon (overworld, Party/box sprites) or move on to a new one?
