Found this bug while going back after defeating the rocket guy. I went down the stairs and fell into the ground.

I'm going to re-do the same part again to see if this bug repeats.-

this problem has happened many times and saddly still has not been fixed
If you have an issue you can save, exit the game, and edit you position in your pokemon/save/<save name>/player.dat file's second line
Change the second value to raise yourself up
o.1 is the usual

For me (back in 0.19, not an official map) it happened repeatedly in third person. I can't remember it happening in first person, I rarely use it.

I think first person, and then i changed to 3rd to see wtf was happening.

It just happened to me, I was in 3rd person camera. In fullscreen

the solution is u when get down click only once if u click twice or stay pressing u will be underground

So far it only happened to me once in 1st person but im still cautious of the spot.
