not sure if there is a rant section, but i gotta rage a little.

It occurs to me that wild pokemon arent effected by repels (may seem that way)
no, it is the character. this is evident in the fact that you will really have a goal, and pokemon will just pop up left and right.
our character has a.d.d coupled with o.c.d for the need to catch them all (even if you have already caught zubat 1000000 different times already)

ever wondered why your character seems to have a siezure when an encounter pops up? yeah that would be our guy creaming himself because he sees a pokemon.

in short, our guy is focussed up till "squirrel!" and then after being completely disorented and a magickarp has had a chance to sing the song of his people, we continue on our journey untill out a.d.d strikes again.

on a different note, this game is awesome and other than the occasional bug, I have no complaints. this was just a humorous take on my journey to catch ho-oh hope you all got a laugh.

It is suppose to be not affected if your party pokemon levels are less than that of the wild pokemon.

"A Repel (Japanese: スプレーSpray) is an item which lets the player walk a certain number of steps without encountering wild Pokémon with a lower level than the first member in the player's party"

Aside from that, It's a game, if it mimicked real life exactly how it is, it would be a boring game now, wouldn't it?
You should rant about that to Nintendo ;)
