Everytime I exit out of the game and enter it again I have to re download the latest version and I lose my previous save and all of the option settings.

i've never had this happen to me but you are not the first to post this exact scenario. i have no idea what would be causing it, i don't work on the launcher. every version of the launcher i have used as performed fine
are you able to click cancel when it asks if you want to download the latest version? it's particularly odd because actual updates don't erase saves at all! it sounds to me like the launcher thinks it has to do a full install of the game from scratch, if it were 'updating' it wouldn't do anything to your saves.
any ideas nilllzz?
Mastergamerlive do you have UAC on, is the folder you are playing from writable on your user account? does it do the same thing if you move the /pokemon/ folder and launcher to your user account's my documents folder? and you probably tried this, but i'll say it anyway, tried running as admin?

I just noticed that it is not every time that I have to update it. It makes me update it at random times. I just updated it when it didn't make me and it didn't delete my save. So it might have been a One time thing.
hopefully the issue is resolved, then. perhaps there is something nilllzz can do to make it work every time.
best practice is to put game files in the user's my documents unless they want to install for all users. the way it just unpacks in the folder its in is fine for most people but maybe it should try and see if the folder will work and if not ask the user if they want to install /pokemon/ to their my documents folder. if so the launcher should use that path to the game binary instead of looking for it relative to the launcher.
but it might not be that at all, like i said, haven't seen the inside of the launcher, so i honestly don't know

It hasn't asked me to install it since before and my save seems to be fine but just in case it happens later, I like to copy my save and keep the extra copy on my desktop. If it happens again, I'll be sure to post it. Thank you for your help

It didn't delete my save for 0.22. One thing you could do is copy you save and paste it somewhere else before updating and after it updates paste it into your saves folder. I'm not sure if it will work but it's worth a try.
