[Indev 0.50.1] Launcher Update Ignores Game Path...

During game updates the Launcher installs new versions to folder called "Pokemon", not to the game path folder itself. It shouldn't do that, or at least it should ask player for desired location to install update.

Can you get it to not install automatically to a folder called "Pokemon"?

The launcher always extracts the downloaded data into a subfolder called "Pokemon" relatively to the path you started it from. This has always been the case, so you probably moved some files around. If you install a specific version of the game by choosing anything other than [Latest] in the launcher's version setting, it's installing to \[version]\Pokemon\ instead of just \Pokemon\

Ok, but most programs install to where we tell them to, you've decided to go some place else relative to our desired location, you've taken control away from us. The game seems to require this Launcher which seems to require this extra folder always added to our path, Q is will you give us back control to where things get installed? You don't need a subfolder called "Pokemon" at all, just the version subfolder will do, unless the programers have some issue with using our paths that other programs don't have, imho. Anyways, keep up your energy, great game!

You can change the path in the launcher's settings.

I just tried it, and it works.

It downloads and extracts the game files to the desired path. The only file that gets saved to the path where the launcher is is its settings file.

Game path is foo\bar but the game gets installed to foo\bar\Pokemon, you don't get this similar error? Based on reply #8 you should, and if so please read reply #9, if not that's great.

That's just how the folder structure works.

That's not expected, for all the reasons stated and there's no advantages to us, but it's your creation, do as you please. =)
