It's illogical to protect those sprites since they aren't originally mine, so...

There are progams that use transparent backgrounds, like Paint.net

Additional details(if any, like hat, colors, mainly for non-characters): Was planning to add a scarf similar to Link's from Hyrule Warriors to the character's design, figured it'd be cool to see it on the sprite instead of the bandana on the neck. If not possible to do, feel free to skip this part.

Additional details: If you want maybe this outfit is alright too, just pour some blood on him and slap a conductor's hat on and it's alright. Again, whichever outfit you feel is easier or looks better.
