To expand on my idea of just giving the HMs like fly even more uses, you could have a spot on the map with a script on it that checks if you have fly, if you do it says you can fly up to somewhere, if you select yes it could go to a map wheere you fly up in the sky around somewhere, and items/trainers/fishing spots/grass with rare pokemon in it etc could be found. If you descend enough you are taken back to where you were on the map, back on foot. When flying it could automatically find the first pokemon on your party with fly and use that as the mount. With 3d environments and the ability to go up/down you could make some pretty cool new maps, Bonus Content.

There should naturally be some kind of trade-off. No reason (while we're dreaming) not to expect encounters with flying Pokemon while in the air. The speed shouldn't be any faster than running (at best) and large obstacles should still act as obstacles unless you find the specific slipstreams (which would access special areas, not bypass obstacles).

is it possible to do like in WoW?? Just put some areas you can not fly, but give the permission if the person have already passed by there walking
right now maps are flagged as allowing fly, dig, teleport and so on, this applies to the whole map. also in wow what they do is make it so you need a skill you gain at a higher level than what you start as on that continent, when you reach that level you buy the skill off a trainer and your flying mounts work again. you could put a johto/kanto flying liscence type thing somewhere in a later part of each region, or flag each area as explored as people visit them like you suggest, but is it worth it? There could be other places for these kinds of things.

Also, regardless of if we get rideable ground pokemon that are just a reskinned bike or something, there should really be more bikes etc in the game, so when you're in a coop game if your character is stinking rich you'll be rolling around on a cool bike while everyone has the default one.

thats not a bad idea, it still overlaps with repels though. lets imagine whole flying things gets rejected, there's no reason why the slipstream idea couldnt just be something you find and if you have fly you get to take it to somewhere. i think it'd be pretty cool, like I said on the other forum you could do the same thing with dig, have holes you notice and if you have dig you can take that to somewhere. lots of possibilities

I don't like this idea. Maybe as a mod or something but it shouldn't be a part of the base game.

I think things like this shouldn't come until nilllzz has completed the game to 1.0.0 so the game is what he wants it to be. Then we add these things.

i totally agree with you about the flying mount, but i think ground mount could come with the bycicle

i don´t like the Idea neither. But it would be great if your pokemon follows you like in yellow or Heartgold/Soulsilver
That's a different story and I'l like that!
that`s a good idea too, but why don you guys like flying/mounting ideia? Do you think it won`t work or just won`t be cool??

There have been heaps of 'cool' ideas but this idea doesn't fit Pokemon in my opinion. Not to mention the problems it would cause already in the thread.

I think the flying/mounting kind of destroys the feeling. Of course it would be awesome to ride a Dragonite or Charizard but I just simply think that it doesn´t fit into this kind of Game. If this were Pokemon Ranger 3D
it would fit. But not in a "normal" Pokemon Game.

But it is not a "normal" Pokemon Game, or it will not be at all. A lot of changes are being suggested and acepted. I agree that it would bring a lot of work and would change the way some people knows pokemon, but if it`s just an optional setting, i can`t see why it don`t fit at all. I think it is possible to player get able to fly after the game is finished. just for fun ad, maybe, make some special maps and stuff, like some people suggested before, and i really think ground mount is pretty similar to bicycle and, if you don`t wanna use it, you can keep just using your bike.

I agree with Haddez, it really is just a "it would be cool if we could do this" feature. Even if the ground mounts actually sound very do-able, it's like suggesting adding a wardrobe and clothes for the player.

The new digging/flying maps do sound interesting though, you could dig underground for pearls and whatever there is for fossils. In the Sky, you could find floating islands that contain rare pokemon if you're lucky. I kind of imagine the flying map to be like a DBZ map on the gameboy. Keeps you on the 3D side of the game, instead of looking at your pokegear. :p

Just keep them good ideas in the back of your head when the game's progression is a bit further, there should be more enthusiasm I think!
