Smoother UI

[Reynard]

As much as the retro feel makes me happy, I can't be the only one who
is slightly disturbed by the UI design. I'd like an option to have a different and more
smooth interface. On that note, i'd be glad if someone could link me to a way that
I could use to modify the UI to my liking and possibly add animations to the transitions.
