aaaa i've been trying to get to bed but if nilllzz doesnt come in here and help you by the time i check tomorrow i'm going to try and build you guys an exe that might pin this problem down. problem is my working folder is using tuesdays code and not fridays code so anything i build won't have fridays fixes in it. but it should be able to find the problem still

try running this version of the game. i have simply placed an if to check if the music file does not exist, and if so not try and play it and pop up a message box. run it and let me know if the message box pops up

i will be keeping the if in there because when it cant find the song it should just stop trying to play it and play no music until something gives it a valid song again.

also my version of the music manager is slightly different to nilllzz's one so that might help too but i really, really doubt it. i think the song just isnt loading

if it does load, and THEN chokes on it, this is some next level shit and im going to have to go back to the drawing board. i literally cant reproduce this problem here

I just wanted to confirm that after reinstalling XNA and .NET and installing all of the available Windows Updates it still didnt work for me so the only thing left for me to do was try and re-enable the Windows Media Player which apparently did the trick.

Thx a lot for your support. It is greatly appreciated.

haha, maybe it depends on WMP, XNA is a microsoft product and WMA is the format the songs compile into so maybe removing that got rid of a codec it used or something? it will probably remain a mystery, but at least it looks like there are ways to fix it

thank you for posting that

Hey mods, I just wanted to report that I have been getting the same error, but by browsing the forums I noticed the Windows Media Player common link with everyone else. My WMP was not enabled and all I did was enable it again. No updates, no restart or anything. YAY!

Here is my crash file, just in case you would like to see it.
