Cannot reach server

I'm trying to play on my own private server with my brother but I'm able to play on it, but then when my brother tries to play it, it says cannot reach server. Then my brother tried hosting the server, but the same happens but instead of it saying that it cant reach the server to him it says it to me.

I don't think Hamachi works with the current server system (don't quote me on that, I don't know everything about servers).

I think they terminated the hamachi connection services as you mentioned. Mainly because it was troublesome for most and with Hamachi becoming a pay-thing in the future, supporting it becomes less..... attractive.
