So a mixture of disabling the windows firewall and making the IP-adress your external IP allows the server to work.

I am actually going to try and re-enable the windows and router firewalls to see if the server is still accessable. Will be tweaking a bit before releasing info widely.

Once you got the server up, you can enable it again and it won't be an issue. At least, with all the servers I hosted, it wasn't an issue anymore.

I will probably turn the server on and leave it on for extended portions of the day/night once i am ready to start testing seriously.
