How do you trade pokemon?

I'm new so sorry for any stupid questions in advance. How do you trade pokemon. I've tried the wondertrade but it seems to not be working or I'm just unable to understand. I have a friend to trade with but can't seem to find how to do so. pls do help or atleast add a procedure or a how to for to trade.

You need a GTS card in your poke gear.

You can get one from the city that is after goldenrod ( unfortunately I do not know how to spell ) in pokemon center.

No you don't need that GTS card if you wish to trade with a friend. Both of you simply have to play online. Then you press Q, select PSS and use the arrow buttons to go to your friendlist (you both need to be friends on gamejolt). Select your friend and press trade. It sounds complicated but is very easy. And helpful.
EDIT: wondertrade is a kinda random way to trade pokemon with a random person that was also looking for a wondertrade

No, with direct trading all you need is to be on the same server to trade. You use the passerby list.
