Difficulty meaning

I have been looking around but kind find a straight answer on what the different difficulties do. Can i get some help here please?

They increase the levels of opponents. The wiki shows the actual formula.

Also: In non-Easy modes, TMs are destroyed upon use.

thanks man. not looking at the wiki was a fail on my part. though the wiki doesn't tell you about the tms getting destroyed. guess that needs to be fixed.
