Multiple online save files / backups

It would be nice if there is a way to store multiple online save games. I would love to see a feature like this, especially since it allows you to make backups of your save file. This is really important, because if you encounter a gamebreaking bug or your save data gets corrupted, you currently have to start all over again.

Are there any plans to implement such system?

I agree to some extent, in the recent update there is a glitch going around that deletes pokemon in the PC and has happened to me which really ticks me off so If this was implemented in the future it would be really quite good

I was thinking one way you could go about having multiple saves is by finding the character data in your local files and making a separate folder (Outside of the game's files) to move your save to. Then you could in theory create more characters and move those saves to that folder too, and manually switch between them in the files. But I can't seem to find an actual character's save in the local files. D:

I'm not sure if it's saved locally or online though. I suppose if it's online it does prevent people from modding their own saves to give themselves everything, though.

A friend of mine got new gamebreaking problems (already posted on the forum) so there really is a need for some kind of backup system. Sorry to bump this topic, but I'd like to know the developer's opinion on this topic. ;)

I'm gonna agree with the OP, multiple online save files would be nice. For instance personally I usually play with my friends. Progressing together is always nice and we usually agree not to play without each other. But of course, we have different times when we're free and waiting for someone can be not cool sometimes.
This would help a lot, since you could have separate save files, one for when you're playing with a friend, one when you're playing alone.

But of course a question comes to mind, is this practical for the devs? Would this be a bit icky to implement? I'm not too much familiar with how GameJolt stores their data but I'm assuming it wouldn't be an easiest thing to do, keeping in mind that the priority is having a cheatproof environment. It'll be perfectly understandable if this is not what you guys have in plan to do, but on the other hand it really would be cool if this became a feature.

Edit: Sorry didn't notice the necro time :p

Let me say that the backup feature is actually implemented but not the way you might want it to be.

Basically if you get the worst crash, the game make a backup of your entire save and encrypt it into funny text. It will locate in Pokemon/saves/backup/*

Simply upload that to the website and a mod will restore it for you if it is game breaking.

Be sure not to post everytime as it is not practical and annoying.

You can always make new gamejolt accounts, there's no limit on how many accounts you can have there. that's how you get more than 1 save.
also, don't worry about losing your progress, it rarely happens, like very rarely. (unless you did something wrong)
