Shiny Candies

Firstly, gotta admit that I love the idea of a rare candy that makes a Pokemon shiny. I also agree with the rarity of the candy, but I just wanted to make a small suggestion about it.
Right now, you can only find it in one location (which shall remain disclosed for those who want to discover it themselves) but how about it being a 1 in 0.2730.6 chance of a random, non-shiny Pokemon holding it when you catch them and a 1 in 3 chance of a shiny pokemon holding one when it's caught?
I dunno, it's just a suggestion.

Also, on this topic, does anyone know is the Masuda Method is in the game or not?

No... I doubt it will ever be a thing....
I mean... P3D is one game that is everywhere and doesn't really base things on regions/countries. Maybe somewhere in the far future.

And as for increasing the ''drop'' chances of the shiny candy, I say no.
Mainly because it's an item which lets you choose which shiny you want and turn them shiny at any given point in time.
It's a unique item. (Besides, there are people with a few 100 of them because of a bug abuse some long time ago, try getting a few from them.)

Ah well, a suggestion is a suggestion P:
I'll try asking around a bit later for one, but I'm not holding my breath xD

Well, since the spawn chance for the shiny candy is about 0.1%, having a 0.2% chance of a Non-shiny having the candy would be ridiculous. I could just go to New Bark with plenty of level balls and catch the lower level poke'mon until I receive said candy (even at 0.2%, it wouldn't be too hard to get it with enough time). With the Shiny candy in the game right now, however, you have to wait 1 to 3 days just to be able to look for it again and hope its there. Most likely, it won't be. :inpain:

I gathered it was a bad idea from the previous posts.

It does? I was just going by the Wiki. I hadn't known they changed it. I should probably lurk more.
they never changed it...you have to factor in some things to get the correct percentage like: chances of finding an item/pokemon, etc...

I know this thread is pretty much dead, but I have one question... Is the item specifically made so it can't be cheated into the inventory? Sometimes I cheat in games to cheat, other times to test how well the scripts and such work, and other times just to get everything I can.

I think shiny candies have been removed from the game in the last version.
