Yes, but most Gym Leaders are now inactive.

That can't be good. Any spots still open(if the gym leader is inactive,he is somewhat gets replaced by another moderator or member)due to inactivity?
I agree this should be the case, since some of us, after finishing story-line wish to further challenge ourselves
I can only speak for myself, but I won't do any more pvp battles until the pvp in p3d is fully functional, crashing in half the battles & not being able to choose pokemon after a pokemon fainting is what really drains the fun out of it for me.
Well..., crashing while battling haven't happened for a while now, But I agree on the "Shift style battle" not being implemented, it's PVP breaking.

I don't think Enethil would give up his Gym Leader position that easily.

Wait a minute. There's no Water Gym Leader. I shall be that Gym Leader.
To register you need to present a team of at least level 70 water types trained in Online mode.
And then that is just your application....
I wont worry about filling spots til we get PvP much more stable........
Being this is in Beta, would it hurt to allow for gym leader's in all type catagories and not just a select 8? Yes 8 is traditional in PPokemon, but as said above, when you finish story mode you just want something to further challenge your abilities. Like after PVP is more stable and perhaps there is more pokemon to choose from and even more so when the beta concept is ready to be restarted. Like really, here is a list of all types now look at the types that are available currently [assumed active], notice the comparison? Plus with more gym leaders there will be less congestion with battle requests yadda yadda yadda.
Normal, fairy, dragon, flying, ghost, psychic, ground, fighting, rock, grass, poison, bug, water, ice, dark, steel, electric, fire... we could even throw legendary in there as gym leader of their own. thats 19 gym leaders + elite 4, 23 people that would take the time to perfom in pvp. OR in order to get around the human element of presence, gym leader teams could be saved and challenged while they r inactive.... this all may not sound like it makes sense but thats only because for now i am only able to follow the game progression and not actually play it....
