Talonflame or Staraptor>close combat will help fight a Dark Type :)
Staraptor has a base attack stat of 120, which makes it a good counter to fighting types. All it has to do is use a couple of Aerial Ace or Brave Birds and the opponent has fallen. While Talonflame is more speed, it isn't even Normal. There are a few cases where a leader/E4 has a set type, where they'll use a Pokemon or more that does not have the type they specialize in.
Lance - Uses Gyrados, Aerodactyl (Gen I) and Charizard (Gen II)
Aaron - Uses Drapion (Gen IV)
Lorelei - Uses Slowbro (Gen I and III, including rematch)
Bruno - Uses Onix (Gen I, II, III and VI) and Steelix (Gen III rematch)
Agatha - Uses Golbat, Arbok (Gen I and III) and Crobat (Gen III rematch)
Koga - Uses Forretress (Gen II, III and VI)
Karen - Uses Vileplume and Gengar (Gen II and VI)

These are just some of the E4 members that Pika has typed down off the top of Pika's mind, Pika doesn't want to go much further than that. But it's totally fine if you decide to use a pokemon or two that aren't normal types.

Thanks again Pika!

My suggestion would be Clefable. It's well rounded in both offense and defense and has a varied move pool, for example a Clefable with Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunder/Thunder Punch, and Ice Punch/Blizzard would hold its own against the Elite 4. Maybe that can help

I ended up finishing my offline save and beating the elite4 with a raticate. Poor poke didn't do much, but at least he was part of it.

Dude, not trying to be rude or anything, but please do not necro thread. The last reply was well over 2 months ago.
