How do I get my old save back?

So I left my game for 1 year because of busy stuff and when I decided to play it again (clicking load game) my last load is from when I was in Cherrygrove city and I have 0 badges. From what I remember Im already at Goldenrod and the data save files even say so. How do I fix this?

A lot has changed over a year, so it would probably be best to start again and work back to where you were at before. But if you really want your save back, contact an admin or other staff and they MIGHT be able to get it back.

This really depends... I suppose this is an offline save because a year ago gamejolt wasn't there yet...
If that's the case, your save is stored locally, in which case you must look at your save folder Pokemon/Save. If it isn't there, then you either deleted it, or something weird has happened.

Have you got the latest version of the launcher, if so, make a gamejolt account and see if you can continue the save online, if not, enjoy the game in offline mode. Yes, and if you do start, I would recommend that you start fresh so you don't get into trouble for any modified save files. Unlike a year ago, you can't cheat on online saves, only offline, and most of that is for modders making gamemodes. It would be best to start again so you can take in all the new additions of the game.

Should always back your saves up and just not of this game. I should know I lost a lot when my hard drive catch on fire hehe, yes fire.
