I am beginning work on a mod to expand the storyline of the games to include giovanni and deepen silver's character and story
Some of the plans:
Giovanni and silver will show up at the top of the radio tower when you beat archer/unknown admin(side question for nillzz - Is the rocket storyline going to have the named admins unnamed?)
Giovanni will do some stuff and announce the revival of team rocket in Kanto and then cause the eruption of Cinnabar(maybe have to look at how that could work)
other things will include the Karen nolonger being in the E4 Lance being demoted and Silver being the champion ala - Blue
Another change(and this is where you come in) is that there will be only one choice for starter and i don't want it to be eevee or pikachu and silver is going to steal sneasel so no fighting, fire, rock, steal(maybe) or bug types
I am thinking maybe beldum(I played with it once as a nuzlocke and with the fact that it only learns takedown til it evolves makes the game pretty hard) but any other ideas would be great
I will post a poll In a week or so on which starter it should be using any and all suggestions that meet the following criteria:
Is not Pikachu
Is not Eevee
Is not a normal starter
Does not learn a move super effective against Sneasel before level 20(will make few exceptions to this rule as i can change the movesets)
Can have a move to damage to Sneasel by lvl 8 at latest (so no Ralts)
Trainer Levels and wild pokemon will of coarse be modded as I see fit

Just a little feedback, here goes:
The Giovanni idea sounds amazing. Seems much like the HG/SS Giovanni event. A little uneasy with the karen/Lance swap idea. Interesting, but I'd like to see some dialogue script of that first.
As for starters, I think 3-stage dragon starters could be a possibility, such as Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew, and maybe Deino (dark/dragon) and Trapinch (ground). It'd probably be a fandom crowd pleaser.

Karen not clair(making lance the fourth elite four and getting rid of karen all togeather)
I'm wanting to only do one so maybe dratini but he evolves to high
it needs to evolve decently which i will say is by or at 20 and then 50(40 would be best)
or if just one evo ~30 should be fine
also there will be some minor type changes that might make some pokemon more powerful

yeah darks super effective to both ghost and electric and they're both 3 evolution pokemon. the only issue with ghastly is he evolves to gengar from haunter via trading which is WEIRD for a starter. mareep could work, but might be hell of strong against first gym, but i guess you can do that with the current starters so w/e

I'm going to edit all the trade evolutions to be lvl ups so that won't be an issue
dark and electric have no relation....

im reading the type chart wrong, sorry. looked a column too far and saw 2x but that was for psychic lmao

psychic starter like abra could be interesting, but the first rival fight would have to happen after you can catch more than 1 pokemon or something lol. i'd totally dig a ghost starter

But gastly would mean you'd need to trade your starter to get a Gengar. If you throw in Abra and Machop(with foresight) as starters too, it'd make an interesting game. (But alakazam would be OP)

he's going to edit the species data so he evolves by level or something
