Does anyone know what the stars mean in the gts when you are trading?

I think they're a privilege system for the global trades (not private). To prevent outrageous trades from people who barely use the GTS.

well, some of my pokemon show orange stars, which i thought meant how many more stars it had than the other pokemon. But, that doesn't seem to be the case
I thought those were considered half stars. You'll have to consult staff for an absolute answer.
