Pichu Evolution

I would just like to know when would my "Pichu" evolve. I know for this particular pokemon it depends on happiness. Considering that, with some time, my "Pichu" is level 42 and I'm still waiting for an evolution. Any help? If I'm just being noob and missing something could someone just let me know with some friendly criticism thanks!

you need to make sure it's happiness is high enough.
P.S: i don't think leveling increases happiness starting from version 36.2

How would I check the happiness =)?

you can't tell exactly, but if you talk to your pokemon the image above it lets you know how happy it is (along with what it says)

Thanks for your reply, I talk to Pichu A LOT, really doesn't help since all of my pokemon have the same messages as far as i know.

As all of them (including Pichu), : "Pichu reaches up to give you a hug.", "Pichu is just very happy to stay with you.", "Pichu plays around happily while looking at you.", etc. Nothing my other pokemon's messages don't say.

So now I just talked to Pichu for a while and that message just showed. =3, you say some time after now?

I know Friendship evolutions work again (just evolved a Azurill), but it may take a long time. (My Pichu wouldn't evolve until level 74...)

o_o wow, I'm having a hard just getting any of my pokemon to lvl 40, only have 2 atm, no where to get more exp from except wild pokemon.
