The more you trade, the more stars you get, etc, etc. but you also need to spend stars to set up trades and the rarer/harder to get a Pokemon is, the more stars required. Sometimes you get awesome ones(torchic, Ralts, Riolu), and sometimes you get sad ones.(sunkurn, Nidoran)
But don't worry, I have an amazing Pokemon ready for tomorrow. You guys are gonna love it.
