I think achievements should actually be for 'Achievements' so an achievement for each Gym Leader, Beating the Elite 4, Special Events of the year, Maybe Legendary Pokemon?

Too many games these days have way easy achievements and are not fun to show off.

I have got one for each Leader and the Leagues. There is one for a legendary but all you have to do is catch one.
I have based these from the original G/S games as we do not know anything that will be added to Pokemon 3D yet :)
I consider the ones like "Fully Evolve a Pokemon" to be an achievement but not as major, there for some fun.

A lot of games use the 'chieves as positive reinforcement sometimes, you can see it used to great effect in most console games, and post-wow blizzard games. I understand where you are coming from, but the easy 'chieves are just filler to make the player feel better. It means nothing if there aren't hard ones in there too, of course, but it is a powerful psychological tool that I don't blame any dev for using.

Honestly I would not name them "achievements" but something like "Trophees" or something. Achievements should be something that's difficult to achieve, the rest is just "oh you've played the game normally; here have an award"

They can be called just about anything, but it doesn't make the filler chieves any less objectively lame. The first hurdle to get over when thinking about this is understanding that having those meaningless popups appear on the screen and pat you on the back is part of the appeal. If the 'chieves make a publicly displayed number on their account go up then you go beyond the carrot and the stick, it is a deadly siren song that few can resist! Even knowing this, when an achievement popup appears my brain does a mighty woot that echoes through the mountains.

It's silly if you examine it all closely, but it's kind of a fact of life that if there are achievements there are going to be pity 'chieves

Sorry to play devils advocate again but achievements could just come in the form of more furniture for your room (you already acquire more in the game, just add more for doing certain things). If you are the host of the game and players go to the room they will be able to survey your work, the fruits of your labour literally out on display.

While there are a lot of merit to achievements (even the easy ones have a purpose) it is one of those things like adding leveling systems on top of things, or adding Hats, going free2play etc, they're big changes with upsides and downsides, and sometimes a similar outcome can come from expanding on the systems that the pokemon games have without affecting the game much.

I just want to make this clear, because we're on a new forum, if I'm critizing anyone'ss ideas I do it only to help keep all the options on the table for consideration. It is ultimately up to nilllzz what goes into the game and what doesn't. A lot of the ideas people who play games have would be really awesome ideas... if they were brought up during pre-production. at a certain point your game's major features and setting and locked down and implementing every suggestion becomes harder. While this game is unfinished and has a lot of room to go and do its own thing, pokemon comes with baggage that limits what you can do without changing the game a lot.

Having said that, achievement popups wouldn't be that big a deal, it wouldn't mess with anything else, IMO. Achievements require an account system first anyway, don't hold your breath. (they could be done offline, stored in save files, but that wouldn't really be as cool.

instead of the this also makes no sense for night and day. why not make that planetary evolution and stones can be a type of radiation evolution. After all the stones only effect certain types of pokemon. suggesting that it a form of radiation that is given off by the stone that only effects that type of pokemon. seem simple if you think of it in that type of manner. Also planetary is self explanatory. Basically it like how the sun and the moon effects creatures and tides on earth. So it not much as it doesn't make sense. If you think about how much is effected on earth already. There even creatures on our current planet that has evolve to mars like conditions as well. Tho We're talking about pokemon. It not too hard to figure out that the sun and the moon probably has massive effects on certain pokemons.

So I was just playing White 2 and I decided to get some of the Medals from the Medal Box.
There are a few that could be quite fun that they have in there. My personal favorites are ones for beating the league with a certain type only.

"Beat the Pokemon league with only Bug Type Pokemon in your party." there is one for each type.

What does everyone think of ones like this?

I would reword that to be
"Beat the Pokemon league with six partially (and/or purely) Bug Type Pokemon in your party."
because there are only 15 pure Bug types in all the pokemon so far (16 if you include Arcesus). ;)

I like your idea very much. Can I expand on it and suggest the following?

"Beat the Pokemon League with a team of six unique Pokemon." (ie can't have two or more Charizards)
"Beat the Pokemon League with a team of six Pokemon that do not share any types in common." (ie can't have Blastoise and Poliwrath)
"Beat the Pokemon League with a team of six Pokemon from six different trainers (including yours)."

I can go all day with this...

Yeah, I think it should be worded like that. Unless you want to enter with a Caterpie!

That will be easy for me, I never use the same Pokemon. :D

I was thinking about achivements for the game in general, not for those new games. I think i was not clear, but i don`t how to explain it, so i gonna use an example of what i`m thinking.

Achivements for defeating all gym leaders and leagues in easy, medium and hard mode.
Achivements for defeating all gym leaders and leagues with the same friend connected in Co-op.

I don`t have more ideas atm but i think someone can think about anything intresting.

Oh... i thought about one achivement too, beating all league with just one type of pokemon.

That is it for now, I hope you guys like this idea

Here's a quote from Notch, the creator of Minecraft, which should be a guideline how to do proper achievements:
Achievements will NOT be chores like “cut down 10000 trees”, but rather challenges like “ride a pig off a cliff”.

The achievements can be fun if they need a strategy to be fulfilled (like living an Explosion and using Counter to KO the Pokémon coming after it), however, something like "catch 200 Pokémon you fished" or "Gain 1000 levels using the Day Care" are simply a boring waste of time.
