It is for those who become Gym Leader when a spot is vacated without having to fight for it
also Gym Leaders can then easily replace Pokemon if they want something different instead of retraining a pokemon from egg
and maybe not abilities but that can be decided later
also all of those things might be available for forum P at some point

It's great if people can buy some pokemons with their forum P but if every one start to rely only on this and just spam forum until they can create their own team, it won't be better. Instead of giving a full team to someone who wants to become gym leader, why not opening the spot for those who have a team ready for it. Depending on the list, you get the first one who have a team (maybe not the same type as long as it isnt used already, so there is a rotation for types too).

If having a full team of perfect pokemons is too easy, no one will train their own and i may be wrong, it's my opinion, but i think that would kinda break the game.

once they become GL we can modify their IVs nature etc for them

I totally agree with this. I personally don't want to be say, against a Gym leader who never worked at all for his pokemon, most likely won't have a full on clue with Strategy, at least breeding your pokemon, building the moves etc, you are showing as a "True Gym Leader", so to speak. Playing P for Pokemon is one thing sure, but surely GL's shouldn't get the easy route. Earn the title, don't be handed.

I just read it through again, I tend to be a bit lazy when it comes to that. If that's the case, then I'll compete for the Grass type spot. How will we be chosen?, a battle later on?

Honestly when Everstone will be available, breeding will be much easier (when the mother holds it, it's 50% to breed a child with the same nature as her). Breeding is an art and people must know a minimum about it to do it well but i guess a new wave of breeders can come from it. Passing stats from parents to a baby is about luck and knowledge and it's a world to discover for players.

after everyone has decided what they want we will open it up for more people(Gym Leaders only)

You get 8th pick(along with Malc and pika) and dont worry about having to fight over the spot or anything like that since there are 12 spots and only 10 staff
