Don't see why you would get hate for it... You'd probably get more hate if you liked the Fire Monkey or the Fire Boar, really. Fire Chicken is cool. xD

theres a few people out there that think the fire/fight chicken is annoying :/ but its design is pretty cool

The Fire chicken is the best out of the 3 Fire Fighting starters, really.

Imma get even more hate for this but not only do I love Blaziken, I also, love Infernape. Out of all the starters, they are my favorites. Though, in the 3rd generation, back when dragon claw, leaf blade, crunch, and thunder punch were still special attacks, Sceptile was my favorite hoenn starter.

With the exception of Emboar(gen 6 is pending) My favorite starter from each gen is the fire type
