[Suggestion/Duplicated]: Quit To Menu confirmation option

Sorry for duplicate posting this, but there isn't any way to reply to the topics already out there because they are locked.

Why isn't this option in game? It's not been mentioned in any of the topics as to why it has been rejected (if this is the case). When you alt tab into the game it places you on the "Quit to Menu" option, but it doesn't ask you to Save first. This can result in lost data, and indeed has in my case just now.

I'm happy for this thread to be locked but can we at least get a response for reasoning for/against this suggestion beforehand, so that other users searching for this can find information on it before posting another duplicate asking why (like I am now.)

PS: Sorry again for dupe-posting. I just want information here. :(

Hmmm, interesting.

I too had problems with this in the past, however, I adapted and made sure I wouldn't mess something like that up. I'll see if I can get a discussion going between Mods and maybe Nilllzz/devs and see what their opinions are, once I hear more either another mod will reply here or I will bring news. ^^

The Quit To Menu button creates an autosave that you can load by pressing the Continue button in the main menu. Then you can save your game easily.

Does this work for Online saves?
Yes,that's the problem...
Does this work for Online saves? Or in the middle of a Battle? Or when you are doing an action (talking, trading, flying, traveling, dying)?

Well it doesn't do it even if you aren't in a battle, for online saves. Because I was posting on these forums earlier while alt-tabbed out of Pokemon 3D, and when I went back into it I accidentally quit to menu.

It didn't save any of the 20 minutes I had played for. Also, when you are in that specific menu with Quit in it, it says on the bottom left "cannot create autosave" or something like that. I get the impression it can't do it while you are "preparing to quit".

I've noticed that and I think the Auto-Save only works for Offline saves. The online saves are a bit trickier...

It shouldn't be difficult, say, to make Quit to Menu perform the same thing as when you press Save in the other menu, right before quitting as previously requested? Or am I being naive here?

Eh, maybe, maybe not. I don't know if that is how it works, Nilllzz or some other dev might find some way to do that or they won't. We'll have to wait and see. ^^

I hope so, because losing that much data is annoying. Even if you only do it once in a blue moon.

Hehehe, yup yup. Quite annoying.... but I was Naive and lost like 3 hours of play once because I didn't save much.... That was fun..... Afterwards I had to battle my Rival like 5 times because I kept alt-tabbing and pressing quit and since then I NEVER did it again.

I usually only make the mistake once and then go OCD on saving to make sure it doesn't happen again. Thing is, I will probably forget someday. Hopefully it's fixed long before then. :p
