Fixed Trapped in Olivine Lighthouse, halp!

So I'm sitting here, after dropping down and fighting the sailor with the poliwhirl, but he's trapped me in a corner that I cannot escape from, can this be fixed by saving, quitting, then restarting?

And the fisherman should be back at this initial position even if you save and reload the game.
