Option to choose which Pokemon YOU want to walk with you

I read through the Suggestion list, and didn't see this (My apologies if they had said this already Dx), but I just thought maybe it would be nice if you could somehow choose which Pokemon from your party that you actually want to walk with you, instead of just the first one. That way, you can train whatever Pokemon you want while having your favorite(s) with you at all times. I know it's a minor detail, but I think it'd be a nice touch.
Maybe it could be an option in the Pokemon menu, like when you choose for them to use a certain HM (such as "Ride", "Surf", or "Fly"), there could be an option that says "Walk" or something similar.

I was actually diappointed that this was not the case when I heard about it in HGSS, but I think Nilllzz want it to stay the way it is now. However, you never know.
